A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOUNT ENTERPRISE, TEXAS, DESIGNATING A PUBLIC INFORMATION COORDINATOR FOR THE PURPOSES OF RECEIVING FAXED AND E-MAILED PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUESTS; DESIGNATING A PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER FOR THE PURPOSES OF RECEIVING TRAINING ON THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CITY OF MOUNT ENTERPRISE CONCERNING THE PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Section 552.301 of the Texas Government Code provides that the City of Mount Enterprise, Texas, may designate a public information officer for the purpose of receiving faxed or e-mailed public information requests; and
WHEREAS, Section 552.012 of the Texas Government Code, as added by Texas Senate Bill 286, in the Texas 79th Regular Legislative Session, effective January 1, 2006, requires public officials and/or the public information Coordinator to complete one (1) to two (2) hours of training on the Public Information Act;
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint the City Secretary as the Public Information Coordinator for purposes of receiving faxed or e-mailed public information requests and for receiving training as required pursuant to Section 552.012 of the Texas Government Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MOUNT ENTERPRISE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct legislative findings of the City of Mount Enterprise, Texas, and are fully incorporated into the body of this resolution.
Section 2. That the City Secretary is designated as the public information officer for the purposes of receiving faxed or e-mail public information requests. Additionally, the City Secretary is designated as the Public Information Coordinator for the purpose of receiving training on the responsibilities of the City of Mount Enterprise, Texas, concerning the Public Information Act..
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage.
